The Domaine La Louvière, located in the south of France near Limoux, 25 km southwest of the beautiful medieval city of Carcassonne, represents much more than just a place of cultivation. It is a living testament to dedication, artisanal expertise, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We believe that an exceptional wine is born long before it reaches the bottle. It all begins in the soil, in the knowledge and patience required to achieve the perfect harvest, in the hands of those who put their heart and soul into every step. The soil, formed over millennia, accumulates molasse containing pebbles, sandstone, and clayey limestone. It is the origin of the name of the Domaine's flagship appellation: La Malepère (from the Occitan MALA PEYRA). This heritage shapes our wines and gives each one its distinctive signature. The Mediterranean climate, combined with the cool winds from the nearby Pyrenees, gives our grapes a balance between ripeness and freshness that is reflected in every glass.
